When Ryan was little, he lived in Haiti. When Ryan lived in Haiti, he fell in love with his favorite fruit: mango. He used to eat mangos every day because they were so sweet, so tasty, and so unique. And delicious.

When Ryan moved away from Haiti, he was very sad, because he didn’t get to eat Mangos every day. (Why do mangoes have to be so expensive in the US?)

However, Ryan got older and grew to love other things, like Heidi. He married Heidi and together they loved to entertain people. They loved to send out nice invitations to people to invite them to parties of all sorts. The only problem was, there were no invitations – or at least the kind that they loved to send out.

Then, they had kids. There were still no invitations to send to announce their children’s births, birthday parties, or even Holiday Cards….well, again, not the kind that they loved to send out.

So, Ryan and Heidi started making their own cards: cards that were as nice as the party. Cards that truly gave a taste of the sweetness to come.

Those cards reminded Ryan of Mangos. They were sweet, they were tasty and they were unique. Ryan and Heidi decided that other people would love such cards too. So they started Mango Ink.

And even though not everyone loves Mangos, they do love things that are sweet, tasty, and unique. And they love to send those things to the people they love.

Five years later…

Ryan and Heidi were sitting in their living room and they realized something: Mango Ink was not as sweet, tasty, and unique as it used to be. Their passion for Mango Ink was not what it once was and well… everything needed to change.

Maybe because Ryan and Heidi had changed or maybe because the world had changed or maybe because you can’t stay still without growing stagnant, or maybe because all three are true.

Rather than sending just invitations, Ryan and Heidi wanted to send art as invitations. Rather than send generic messages,  Ryan and Heidi wanted to say something. Rather than be subtle, Ryan and Heidi wanted to be blatant. Rather than go the safe route, Ryan and Heidi wanted to speak their mind and see what happens.

So they decided to put something that mattered on the front and let clients make the invitation, announcement, or holiday card, happen on the back. They decided that since they were making something that mattered, the designs would also be amazing to hang in a home or office as a thin-wrap canvas or metal print.

They hooked up with an amazing organization called Krochet Kids (who is actually changing the world) and they insisted that everything Mango Ink did had to be blatant and it had to be beautiful.

So now you can hang up something juicy, you can send something unique and you can taste something beautiful.

Because that’s what mangoes have always been.
Heidi has spent 14+ years being a mom (teenagers now!), a wife, and a business woman which has allowed her to learn stuff like finance, style, simplicity, authenticity, and passion. She’s also learned that whether it’s a delicious meal or a delicious marketing plan/budget, everything in life works better with a dash of finance, some style, a little simplicity, a lot of authenticity, and a ton of passion.

Ryan has spent 12+ years working as a designer and writer which has allowed him to learn stuff like “how to use a computer”. Ryan has spent 3 years as a pastor which has allowed him to learn that the world really does need some more beautiful – and religion is not usually it.
