GET TO KNOW ME… VOL. 2 // CUSTOM MAPS

This week, volume 2, we're getting to know more about custom maps! that's right! We offer customizable maps where we work with you to create a personalized map to your liking to give to your guests before your special day.

starting from the very beginning

You gotta give us something to work with. Share a little bit about your love story! We love hearing about your "meet cute" and I'm sure you and your significant other love telling it:) Knowing more insight on your story, your lifestyle, we can really begin to get a feel for your vibe and learn what parts of your life together have been impactful.

From there, with your insight and requests we work together to choose up to five locations that are most meaningful to you (amount can be altered and can increase price).

design process

Once we have an agreement on destinations you want to see on the map, we begin the design process. For starters we research the places, their distance from each other and how we can manipulate their coordinates to fit the card while remaining realistic. We then do some digging on the locations, finding inspiration photos to work with.

After finding the inspo we begin drawing! Many of our icons you see are minimalistic, line work. Not only is this an aesthetic and a popular style, but less detail tends to be visually easier to recognize for your guests. When having to shrink down icons to fit everything on a 5x7 or smaller card, this style of icons create a balanced and legible map.

There are so many reasons to love custom maps.

For starters, they are personalized to you!

1. They share a piece of you and your significant other that many don't see on an everyday basis! Showcasing parts of the town you live in or where you met allows family and friends to step in your shoes for a day!

2. Guests have something to in the meantime! Many guests make a vacation around a wedding celebration. Especially if they are traveling far. A map not only gives them a better understanding of the town, but they can explore from a locals point of view.

3. A custom map is a great keepsake! They can act as a small art print that you or your loved ones will WANT to keep forever! Whether framing it or putting it on the fridge, custom maps are a cute form of artwork.
