ashley + jack // winter gatsby wedding // idaho
the couple and vision:
ashley and john (jack), had the biggest party planned to celebrate their wedding. and then, that pandemic happened. :( just as we packaged the wedding suite up, ready to mail to their guests, they had to cancel. tears. but with true beauty, they decided to send them out anyway. we converted the RSVP card to a “look what we had planned for you” insert. and then they planned an intimate wedding and dinner with a small group instead. radiant and magical.
design aesthetic:

ceremony and reception vibe:
the original plan // ceremony at the golf club at black rock coeur d'alene: dark, woodsy, old school mens club feel. reception at the corral: barn-type feel: candles and low lighting
the modified plan // ceremony at the hayden lake country club. reception at a private residence.
their love story:
“We met at the University of Montana in 2009 as rowdy teens and spent the next 4 years in a close friend group, partying, getting into trouble, and playing outside. After we had been out of school for a couple years (2015), I was living in Seattle, Jack was living in Boston, I came out to the East coast to visit my best friend, and over the course of a week, Jack and I reconnected, I made new friends, fell in love with Boston, and decided I had to move there. We started dating several months later, spent a few years traveling and living in Boston, eventually moving to New York City. We love to ski, travel, eat spicy foods, golf, camp, hike and cruise the city with our Wiener dog, Chauncey. In December 2019, Jack proposed in the snow outside of our favorite hotel in the world (L'apogee), in Courchevel 1850, the French Alps, after a beautiful day of skiing, massages, and champagne. France + Champagne + Mountains. It was perfect.”
